Policy support on the development of a single benefit
Allen & Clarke provided policy support to the Ministry of Social Development for work on the development of a single benefit. This included work on residence requirements, benefit criteria for young people, and disability issues.

Allen & Clarke was contracted by the New Zealand Ministry of Education to assess processes for re-enrolling school students who had been excluded from school due to misbehaviour.

Allen & Clarke has a number of public health practitioners who can provide policy support across the broad spectrum of public health topics.

Allen & Clarke assisted the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) to develop a Falls Prevention Strategy.

Allen & Clarke has produced a range of policy papers for the Building Industry Authority (2003-04) and Department of Building and Housing (2005 to 2008 and ongoing).

Assistance provided to the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) to develop a Drowning Prevention Strategy (2004-05).

Radiation protection legislation
Allen & Clarke reviewed the Radiation Protection Act for the purpose of identifying amendments to the Act that were needed to give effect to New Zealand’s international obligations with respect to the use, transport, security and storage of radioactive sources (2004).

Assisted the Ministry of Health with a review of the Alcoholism & Drug Addiction Act, including a literature review, analysis of international approaches to the compulsory treatment of people with alcohol and drug problems, and development of policy options.
