Strategic policyLiterature Review and Strategic Plan on youth smoking initiationA review of evidence regarding risk and protective factors for smoking initiation, and development of a national plan for combating the uptake of smoking. Tobacco Control in the Pacific Allen & Clarke, with funding from New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID), has been assisting governments in the Pacific to design and implement comprehensive tobacco control programmes, consistent with the World Health Organization (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and international best practice (2003 - 2007 and ongoing). Falls Prevention Strategy Allen & Clarke assisted the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) to develop a Falls Prevention Strategy. Drowning Prevention Strategy Assistance provided to the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) to develop a Drowning Prevention Strategy (2004-05). Tobacco Control Research Strategy Drafting of, and consultation on, a Research Strategy. Then, establishment of an inter-sectoral Steering Group to drive the implementation of that strategy and provision of Secretariat services to that group. Developing a monitoring framework for the Reducing Inequalities in Health programme Development for the Ministry of Health of a monitoring framework for the Reducing Inequalities in Health programme. New Zealand Injury Prevention Strategy Assistance provided to the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) to finalise the New Zealand Injury Prevention Strategy and to develop the 2004/05 Implementation Plan for the Strategy (2003). |
