Brigid joined Allen & Clarke after working in the health sector for eight years. After completing a BA at the University of Canterbury, she joined the Public Health group in the Southern Regional Health Authority. Brigid has since completed a Diploma and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Otago.
Brigid has worked extensively in public health, covering issues including communicable disease control, environmental health issues such as drinking water standards and hazardous substances management, and health promotion initiatives ranging from tobacco and drug control and harm minimisation strategies to nutrition promotion, injury prevention and programme evaluation.
Brigid has experience in policy development and implementation, contracting, service development and implementation, development of regulatory frameworks and the implementation of new legislation. She has specific experience in issues requiring a cross-sector approach, involving government and non-governmental agencies.
Since joining Allen & Clarke Brigid has worked on a variety of projects, including legislative reviews, policy development, research and analysis for governmental and non-governmental organisations.
