While working for Allen & Clarke, Anna has been involved in a number of health-related policy projects including developing and implementing a health support service for a chemically exposed population, reviewing or developing key strategic documents, and work relating to the ongoing competence of the public health workforce. She has also conducted literature reviews into physical activity promotion, breastfeeding, and young parents. Other key areas of work include the development of pragmatic implementation plans for various policy projects, public submission analysis, and consultation with stakeholders. Clients have included the New Zealand Ministry of Health, Accident Compensation Corporation, a development assistance agency (NZAID), a sports policy agency (SPARC), and a building control agency, as well as others. International clients include the World Health Organization. Prior to working at Allen & Clarke, Anna worked for the New Zealand Ministry of Health. Anna was involved in preparing regulations, guiding draft regulations through the regulatory process, and working with a Ministerial Advisory Committee to implement prescribing controls for various professional groups. She also serviced the Minister of Health through a corporate services role.

Anna has also worked in Thailand under the auspices of the Voluntary Services Overseas (UK). She worked closely with people from Burma to develop a network of educational opportunities for local women, with a particular focus on environmental issues. She was also involved in researching and developing educational resources in conjunction with local people.
