About the Experts
Stuart Beresford is a senior consultant with two decades’ worth of experience in policy analysis under his belt, including six years at the United Nations. He has led a wide range of policy projects relating to civil court fees, energy efficiency, human rights, Māori land law, and privacy regulation.
Jason Carpenter is a senior consultant with experience across the entire policy spectrum, including policy development, stakeholder and public consultation, and research and reviews. He has particular experience within the health area, including leading and contributing to projects on tobacco control, drinking water, physical activity, and more.
Steph James is a senior consultant with a background in law and science and a strong focus on sustainability. She has experience across a range of sectors in Australia and New Zealand, including health, gene technology, social development, environment, workers’ compensation, and Māori affairs.
Rob Smith is a senior consultant and an experienced public policy practitioner and project manager. He has particular expertise and interest in regulatory policy projects, and his key areas of interest include public health, building control and housing, health and safety, border security, social and community development, and more.
