Feature Project:
Allen + Clarke worked with Multiple Sclerosis in 2021 to help streamline and standardise their policy framework.
Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand (MSNZ) accepted pro bono support from Allen + Clarke to develop a standardised privacy policy and procedures for its regional societies.
MSNZ’s core mission is to work with 18 independent regional societies to meet the needs of people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), their families and carers through national leadership, advocacy, communication, and national and international collaboration.
With the Privacy Act 2020 updating New Zealand’s privacy regime for the digital world, MSNZ wanted an up-to-date, standardised privacy policy that could be consistently implemented by the regional societies.
Allen + Clarke analysed the requirements of the new Privacy Act; scanned policies at comparable organisations for best practice; and reviewed existing policies from the regional societies. Using these inputs, Allen + Clarke created a standardised privacy policy with easy-to-follow procedures for each of the regional societies to adopt.
The final product was a template with associated documentation for the client to apply to their practice, to standardise the process and ensure policies and procedures are followed correctly.
